MEF: The industry focal point for Carrier Ethernet

Ethernet represents the most important evolutionary step in service provider networking over this next decade. Ethernet technology is extensively being deployed for the delivery of high speed business connectivity services and increasingly, as infrastructure for residential triple-play rollouts.

The MEF is a non-profit organization with over 75 active members spanning the globe, representing all Carrier Ethernet industry stakeholder groups. The MEF mission is to accelerate worldwide adoption of Carrier-class Ethernet filling a void not currently addressed by existing standards bodies for defining and marketing Carrier-class Ethernet technologies and services.
